Age Limits As On 01 August 2026

- Maximum Age : 42 Years
- Primary and Middle: minimum 18 years. Secondary and Higher Secondary: minimum 21 years. Maximum: unreserved male 37, unreserved female / BC / EBC 40, SC/ST / transgender 42 years, as on 1 August 2026, plus rules in Advertisement 14/2026.
BPSC provides age relaxation as per their regulations.
Changes in TRE 4.0
- Examination fee reduced to ₹100 per class-level category.
- Negative marking of one-third for wrong answers, as stated in the official note.
- One Time Registration is mandatory; DigiLocker for documents.
- ₹200 biometric fee if Aadhaar is not provided in the form.
- BSEB Unique ID to be filled where asked.
- STET 2026 candidates: self-declaration for eligibility and certificate verification as in the advertisement.

Primary vacancies are split by medium (General, Urdu, Bangla). Middle school includes Mathematics and Science, Social Science, Hindi, English, Sanskrit and Urdu. Higher secondary has the largest share (16,101) across science, humanities, commerce and languages. Women’s reservation applies as per Bihar rules. Final numbers can still change after the department’s requisition. Age is counted on 1 August 2026. A five percent relaxation in minimum marks is available for SC/ST, EBC, BC and women where the notification allows it.

Do not treat 1 September 2026 as the opening date. That window was postponed. A later BPSC note said the revised advertisement and online form are likely to start from 21 September 2026.
