1. TDIP Scheme Revised Guidelines Released

Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia (Ministry of Communications and MDoNER) officially launched the revised guidelines of the Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in New Delhi. The scheme carries a financial outlay of ₹203 crore for 2026–31 and aims to accelerate India's contribution to global telecom standards, specifically advancing 5G Advanced and 6G technologies. It supports participation in bodies such as the ITU, 3GPP, and M2M standards organisations.

केंद्रीय मंत्री ज्योतिरादित्य एम. सिंधिया ने दूरसंचार विभाग (DoT) की प्रौद्योगिकी विकास और निवेश संवर्धन (TDIP) योजना के संशोधित दिशा-निर्देश नई दिल्ली में जारी किए। इस योजना के लिए 2026–31 हेतु ₹203 करोड़ का वित्तीय आवंटन किया गया है। यह योजना ITU, 3GPP और M2M जैसे वैश्विक दूरसंचार मानक संगठनों में भारत की भागीदारी को मजबूत करेगी और 5G एडवांस्ड तथा 6G नवाचार को बढ़ावा देगी।

2. PMIS Eligibility Expanded by MCA

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), in consultation with the Department of Higher Education (DoHE), broadened the eligibility for the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) pilot phase. Final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students aged 18–25 are now included, replacing the earlier bracket of 21–24. Applicants need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from authorised academic officials confirming the internship will not hamper their studies. The monthly stipend under the scheme has also been revised upward by the Government of India.

2. MCA ने PMIS की पात्रता बढ़ाई

कॉर्पोरेट कार्य मंत्रालय (MCA) ने उच्च शिक्षा विभाग के परामर्श से प्रधानमंत्री इंटर्नशिप योजना (PMIS) की पात्रता का विस्तार किया। अब अंतिम वर्ष के स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर छात्र (आयु 18–25 वर्ष) इस योजना के लिए आवेदन कर सकते हैं। आवेदकों को अपने संस्थान से NOC प्रस्तुत करना होगा। मासिक स्टाइपेंड में भी वृद्धि की गई है।

3. South Korean President's State Visit to India

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung paid a state visit to India from 19–21 April 2026 — the first such visit by a South Korean head of state in eight years. He was accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and a high-level delegation. On 20 April, PM Narendra Modi and President Lee held a bilateral summit at Hyderabad House, New Delhi. This visit is expected to deepen ties in trade, technology, and defence between both nations.

3. दक्षिण कोरियाई राष्ट्रपति की भारत राजकीय यात्रा

दक्षिण कोरिया के राष्ट्रपति ली जे म्युंग ने 19–21 अप्रैल 2026 को भारत की राजकीय यात्रा की — यह किसी दक्षिण कोरियाई राष्ट्राध्यक्ष की आठ वर्षों में पहली भारत यात्रा थी। 20 अप्रैल को प्रधानमंत्री मोदी और राष्ट्रपति ली के बीच हैदराबाद हाउस, नई दिल्ली में द्विपक्षीय शिखर वार्ता हुई। इस यात्रा से व्यापार, प्रौद्योगिकी और रक्षा क्षेत्र में सहयोग और मजबूत होगा।

4. Eveready Commissions India's First Alkaline Battery Plant in Jammu

Eveready Industries India Ltd. (EIIL) inaugurated India's only operational alkaline battery manufacturing facility in the Samba district of Jammu (J&K). The greenfield unit was opened by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. EIIL aims to capture approximately 25% market share in India's alkaline battery segment within three years, up from the current 16%, through both domestic sales and exports.

4. जम्मू में देश की पहली अल्कलाइन बैटरी फैक्ट्री

Eveready Industries India Ltd. (EIIL) ने जम्मू के सांबा जिले में भारत की एकमात्र चालू अल्कलाइन बैटरी विनिर्माण इकाई का उद्घाटन किया। इसका उद्घाटन उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा ने किया। कंपनी का लक्ष्य तीन वर्षों में अल्कलाइन बैटरी बाजार में 16% से बढ़कर 25% बाजार हिस्सेदारी हासिल करना है।

5. NARIT-AI Launched by Gujarat Police

Gujarat Police launched NARIT-AI (Narcotics Analysis and Retrieval Augmented Generation-based Investigation tool), a first-of-its-kind AI-powered tool designed to enhance narcotics investigation capabilities. The tool uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to analyse drug-related intelligence and assist investigators in connecting patterns and evidence.

5. गुजरात पुलिस ने NARIT-AI लॉन्च किया

गुजरात पुलिस ने NARIT-AI (Narcotics Analysis and Retrieval Augmented Generation-based Investigation) लॉन्च किया — यह नारकोटिक्स जांच के लिए देश का पहला AI-आधारित टूल है। यह RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) तकनीक का उपयोग करते हुए ड्रग-संबंधी खुफिया जानकारी का विश्लेषण करता है और जांचकर्ताओं की मदद करता है।

6. SAFF Women's Championship 2026 – Pakistan Withdraws

The 2026 SAFF Women's Championship, scheduled to be hosted by India in Goa, will proceed with six teams after Pakistan officially withdrew from the tournament. This development reduces the participating nations but the event is expected to proceed on schedule.

7. Poshan Pakhwada 2026 – 8th Edition

The Ministry of Women and Child Development celebrated the 8th Poshan Pakhwada from 9–23 April 2026. The theme for 2026 was "Maximizing Brain Development in the First Six Years of Life." The campaign promotes play-based learning for children aged 3–6 years and emphasises reducing screen time while encouraging active parental engagement and community participation through Jan Andolan.

7. पोषण पखवाड़ा 2026 – 8वाँ संस्करण

महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय ने 9 से 23 अप्रैल 2026 तक 8वाँ पोषण पखवाड़ा मनाया। 2026 का थीम था — "जीवन के पहले छह वर्षों में मस्तिष्क विकास को अधिकतम करना"। यह अभियान 3–6 वर्ष के बच्चों के लिए खेल-आधारित शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देता है और स्क्रीन समय घटाने पर बल देता है।

Ramsar Sites in India – Static GK

India has over 85 Ramsar-designated wetland sites. As of early 2026, Tamil Nadu leads with 20 Ramsar sites, the highest for any Indian state. Uttar Pradesh holds the second position with 12 Ramsar sites. Ramsar Convention on Wetlands was signed in 1971 in Ramsar, Iran. India became a signatory in 1982. INS Taragiri – Defence Static GK

INS Taragiri was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 3 April 2026 at Visakhapatnam by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. It is the fourth ship of Project 17A (Nilgiri-class frigates), designed by the Warship Design Bureau and built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL). The vessel features over 75% indigenous content, advanced stealth technology with a reduced radar cross-section, and is capable of multi-role operations including combat, surveillance, anti-piracy, and humanitarian missions.
