SBI (State Bank of India) has released a recruitment notification for the engagement of Concurrent Auditors on a contract basis. The notification was published on 14 May 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for retired SBI and e-Associate bank officers who wish to continue contributing their expertise. The total number of vacancies is 821 across various circles in India, including regular and backlog positions. The selection will be based on shortlisting followed by an interview. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have retired from SBI or its e-Associate banks only on attaining superannuation at age 60. Officers who voluntarily retired, resigned, or left before superannuation are not eligible. The maximum age for fresh engagement as of the advertisement date (14.05.2026) is 63 years. The retired officer must have a good track record, thorough knowledge of bank systems, and no doubtful integrity. No major penalty (censure or higher) should have been imposed in the last five years of service. Also, no pending cases with CBI or other law enforcement agencies. The officer should be in good health. Only officers retired as MMGS-III, SMGS-IV/V, and TEGS-VI scales are eligible. Preference will be given to those with audit experience.

Reservations apply for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD categories as per government norms. OBC candidates in creamy layer must apply under General category.

Remuneration

Selected officers will receive a fixed monthly lump sum compensation without any perquisites, in addition to their pension. The amounts are: MMGS-III – ₹45,000; SMGS-IV – ₹50,000; SMGS-V – ₹65,000; TEGS-VI – ₹80,000. For cluster audit (2+ branches) or special audits like currency chest, forex, FSLO, an additional ₹2,000 per visit/branch is payable. No house, furniture, medical reimbursement, or other benefits are provided during the contract. Income tax is deducted at source.

Selection Process

First, a shortlisting committee will screen applications based on parameters decided by the bank. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview carrying 100 marks. The bank decides the qualifying marks. Final merit list is based on interview scores. In case of a tie, older candidates are ranked higher. Mere fulfilment of eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.

They must scan and upload recent photograph (20-50 kb, 200x230 pixels), signature (10-20 kb, 140x60 pixels), and PDF documents (each ≤500 kb) including experience details of last 10 years, ID proof, date of birth proof, PPO copy, and caste/EWS certificate if applicable. Only one application per circle is allowed; multiple applications may lead to rejection. No hard copy is to be sent.
